An administrative building in the Russian city of Kursk was struck by a Ukrainian drone, which “insignificantly damaged” the roof.

On Sunday, Russian airstrikes in Kherson, in southern Ukraine, resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to three more. The governor of the area said on Sunday that Ukraine has now been at war for 20 months.

The Russian military attacked the city of Berislav, according to Governor Alexander Prokudin, and a number of private residences were destroyed. He claimed that three people, including a police officer, were hurt and that one woman died.

Both impacted settlements are situated in the Ukrainian-controlled portion of the Kherson area, which has been separated by the Nieper River since the withdrawal of Russian soldiers in November 2022, establishing a front line that has increased the advancing nation’s morale.

According to regional governor Roman Starovoit, a Ukrainian drone targeted the main office in the Kursk region of Russia, resulting in “minor damage” to a government structure. He made no mention of any casualties or the contents of the building.

The Kursk area of Russia, which borders Ukraine, is frequently the subject of assaults. The regional capital’s anniversary of creation was the day of the drone attack.

Officials from Ukraine, who normally deny involvement for assaults on Russian territory, have not yet made any immediate comments.

While in North America, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke to the UN General Assembly and traveled to Canada for the first time during hostilities.

After building up assault battalions and receiving some weapons guaranteed by Western nations, Kiev declared its most recent effort in June to retake territory from Russian forces.

“From (Defense) Minister (Rustem) Umerov, good news. Abrams has already arrived in Ukraine and is getting ready to bolster our battalions, according to a statement posted by Zelensky on social media.

The president of Ukraine made no mention of how many tanks had arrived in the nation or how long it would take to place them on the front lines.

At the beginning of the year, the United States committed to give Ukraine 31 Abrams tanks as part of the more than $43 billion in security aid it had promised over the previous 18 months. The tanks will be equipped with 120 mm armour-piercing depleted uranium ammunition, according to US sources.

Abrams tanks were sent to Ukraine, which was perceived as a U-turn as American defense officials had previously claimed that they were inadequate against Kyiv’s forces due to their complexity.
